India, Aug. 20 -- Actor Achyut Potdar, known for his roles in Parineeta (2005), 3 Idiots (2009) and Dabangg 2 (2012), died in Mumbai on Monday evening. He was days away from turning 91. While the cause of his death is unknown, it has been reported that the actor had been admitted to a Thane hospital recently owing to "age-related complications." His funeral was scheduled for August 19. Following the news of Potdar's death, tributes poured in. Television channel Star Pravah shared an Instagram post in his honour. "His smile, simplicity and honesty in every role will always be remembered." Director Hansal Mehta wrote, "Was a privilege to have directed him in my directorial debut Jayate (1997). Amazing timing and a super caustic sense of humour. Go well Achyut Potdar sir." The actor has over 125 films and more than 100 television shows to his credit. Interestingly, Potdar began his career as an actor at the age of 44, having previously worked for the Indian Oil Company after a stint in the Indian Armed Forces. He also went viral for his brief role in 3 Idiots; his dialogue, "Kehna kya chahte ho?" spawned several memes on social media.
