India, Oct. 17 -- In its continued commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, Cosmo Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Cosmo First Ltd, launched its annual Miyawaki and Fruit Bearing Forestry Plantation Drive at the 25 Bn BSF Campus in the Capital on Tuesday. The drive was held in the presence of Daljit Singh Chawdhary, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, along with Ashok Jaipuria, Chairman and Managing Director, Cosmo First Ltd, and Yamini Jaipuria, Managing Trustee, Cosmo Foundation and Whole-Time Director, Cosmo First Ltd. Implemented by the Prayas Youth Foundation, the initiative is a tribute to the shared vision of public institutions and the private sector working hand in hand to restore ecological balance. Over the last five years, Cosmo Foundation has planted 1,11,000 trees across India, and is in the process of planting 50,000 trees, including 15,000 at BSF Chhawla and 35,000 at the Biodiversity Hub in Aurangabad. This will take the Foundation's total plantation count to 1,61,000 trees spread across 179 acres of land. The Biodiversity Hub in Aurangabad, developed by the Foundation with the Indian Army, stands as one of Maharashtra's largest green belts, housing over 70 species of trees and nurturing an ecosystem rich in birds, butterflies, and flowering plants. In Vadodara and Aurangabad, the Foundation's Agroforestry project has benefitted 115 farmers and their families, offering them sustainable livelihoods through the cultivation of fruit-bearing trees such as mango, guava, custard apple, and sweet lemon. Yamini shared, "Every tree we plant carries forward our belief that growth and giving back must go hand in hand." Through partnerships with the BSF, the Indian Army, and the Prayas Youth Foundation, the Cosmo Foundation continues to sow the seeds of a greener, more sustainable tomorrow.htc...
