India, May 10 -- T he Capital was transformed into a vibrant "Little Europe" on Friday evening as European Union Ambassador to India Herve Delphin hosted a reception to celebrate Europe Day. While officially observed on May 9 to mark the historic Schuman Declaration, the celebrations brought together Delhi's diplomatic and cultural circles for an evening of conversation, cuisine and social exchange. Reflecting on the current global climate, Delphin echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that "today's era should not be an era of war", while highlighting the European Union's identity as a peace project. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the evening as chief guest. Amid clinking glasses and authentic European delicacies, guests sampled specialties from EU member states, from French cheeses to German pretzels, celebrating the spirit of "Vividhta Mein Ekta" or unity in diversity....
