India, Feb. 14 -- C ontent creator Chandni Bhabhda recently got to live her dream: of being on the big screen! She made her debut with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, released last December. With this, she joined the list of creators who transitioned to the big screen. However, what has also been discussed in the past is whether social media following influences casting choices. "Of course," she says, adding, "When you look at it (the discussion), ultimately, it (filmmaking) is a business. Producers would want to cast somebody who can bring audiences to theatres and generate revenues." The debate often veers into whether talent is overlooked, we add. Chandni continues, "When a casting person is looking out, it's not just about 'influencers'. It's more like kisi ka koi social media post ya pictures dekh li, and they feel they want to give them a chance, if they match the character. Having a fan base is an add-on benefit." Before her film debut, Chandni had shot to fame with her Instagram Reels mimicking actor Alia Bhatt, which even bagged her endorsements. The 24-year-old says the audience ultimately weeds out the talent from hype, "Janta will accept only people who can act. Acting is only a medium; the judgment lies with the viewers. We should leave it to the people and do our work; that's more important than dwelling on such things."...
