India, Aug. 27 -- Cont'd from p1 Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival that Sara Ali Khan waits for year-round. "The festival is a celebration of all the love that we have. Everyone comes together to sing aartis, have satsangs and enjoy the moment while spreading as much happiness and joy as we can," she says, speaking to us during the festivities today. The actor, who says spirituality is an important aspect of her life, adds, "In a world that can sometimes feel so isolated, it's heartwarming to see everyone celebrate and hope for auspicious beginnings in their own lives as well as for others. That communal spirit is what I cherish the most." It's also a time for gratitude, says Sara who's had an eventful year with releases such as Sky Force and Metro. In Dino: "This year, I want to be mindful of spreading joy. When I pray to Ganesh ji, I want to thank him for always protecting me, giving me all that I have, and everything I've been blessed with." Currently, the air is electric in her home city. Smiling, she tells us, "Mumbai lights up differently during this time. There's aartis and pandals on every road, with communities uniting to decorate their Ganpati idols. Those vibrations can be felt across the whole city." As the daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara comes from a multicultural background. Bring it up and the 30-year-old muses, "I simply believe I'm an Indian. And to me, that means celebrating every festival. We also celebrate Eid and Christmas. My favourite thing about these festivals is that they foster empathy. They allow us to celebrate with everyone, not just ourselves. And in today's world, I think that's more important than ever."...
