Mohali, May 29 -- A video purportedly showing a traffic policeman accepting Rs.500 bribe in Zirakpur has gone viral on social media, following which a department inquiry has been ordered. The policeman, identified as assistant sub inspector (ASI) Sohan Lal, posted at Patiala Chowk, has been sent to police lines pending inquiry. He is accused of taking the bribe from a motorist for not issuing a traffic challan. According to information, senior police officials took immediate cognisance of the viral clip and transferred the policeman. Sources indicated that the video may be an old recording and the veracity and the timing of the alleged incident is being verified. Mohali deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Karnail Singh said the matter is being treated seriously and every aspect of the video is under investigation....
