NEW DELHI, May 14 -- Delhi Police has arrested social media influencer and dermatologist Dr Neelam Singh for allegedly posting objectionable posts targeting the Kapur family following the death of businessman Sunjay Kapur, officers aware of the matter said on Wednesday. Deputy commissioner of police (South West) Amit Goel confirmed the arrest on Wednesday. According to a senior police officer, a complaint was lodged at Vasant Kunj police station on behalf of the Kapur family alleging that the influencer had shared "defamatory and offensive content" on social media in the aftermath of Kapur's death. Police said Singh, who is widely known online by the name "The Skin Doctor", was subsequently traced and arrested after preliminary verification of the allegations. A senior police officer, requesting anonymity, said investigators are examining the social media posts in question and analysing the content. "The complaint alleged that certain tweets posted by the accused were objectionable in nature and caused distress to the family. Based on the complaint and preliminary enquiry, legal action was initiated. A case on charges of theft, defamation and under provisions of the IT Act has been registered," the officer said.
