Jalandhar, Sept. 29 -- Reacting briefly to the series of violent episodes at LPU, Ashok Mittal, university's chancellor and BJP Rajya Sabha member, said it was disheartening to see what had happened on the campus, which had built trust among students over the years. "Though the Punjab Police have been carrying out a detailed investigation, we are surely going to file a formal complaint with the police about violent incidents on the campus," Mittal said, who was reluctant to talk on the matter, adding that the varsity spokesperson is entitled to brief the media. Meanwhile, a senior university functionary said the possibility of conspiracy could not be ruled out, as the people had seen "goonda" elements creating large-scale ruckus. "We are looking at the police investigation and hoping that their reports will bring the truth before the students and public," the functionary said. In July, Mittal, who had faced ED raids in April, switched to the BJP after severing ties with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), along with his three other colleagues- Harbhajan Singh, Sandeep Pathak and Raghav Chadha....
