India, Aug. 29 -- Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medallist and three-time Asian champion Ravi Kumar Dahiya believes India needs better sporting infrastructure, particularly multi-sport facilities where athletes can train year-round. The 28-year-old points to Haryana, where pollution can halt training for two to three months, and says federations need to build stronger systems across sports. "Winning just one or two medals in a country this big, honestly, is shameful for us as athletes too! We need infrastructure, badly. When there's no infrastructure, no culture, nobody practising around you, how do you expect us to grow? One day of training matters more than people realise. Here, we lose months of it," the wrestler says. Dahiya also credits the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for building the structures that helped transform Indian cricket.
