Chandigarh, July 17 -- The municipal corporation (MC) Chandigarh conducted a cleanliness awareness and vigilance session at DC Montessori Sr Sec (SMART) School, Chandigarh, with the objective of encouraging students to contribute towards a cleaner and greener city. The team of officials emphasised the collective responsibility of citizens in making the City Beautiful, Chandigarh, the cleanest city by keeping their surroundings neat and hygienic. The officials highlighted the importance of proper waste management and educated the students about the different colour-coded bins and their specific uses for effective waste segregation. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation as students raised several queries regarding waste segregation and responsible disposal practices, which were addressed comprehensively by the officials. The students pledged to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness, spreading awareness, and discouraging practices that pollute the environment.
