UT mayor steps in to support differently abled couple in city
Chandigarh, March 6 -- Mayor Saurabh Joshi took cognisance of the grievance of a differently-abled couple, with speech and hearing disabilities, residing at government house No. 665, Sector-16 (Ward No. 12), Chandigarh.
Due to communication barriers, the couple was compelled to record a video complainthighlighting their grievance related to the maintenance department.
The matter came to the notice of the mayor, who immediately treated it as a humanitarian concern requiring urgent attention.
Taking prompt action, the mayor has forwarded the complaint along with the video to the governor and administrator, UT Chandigarh, requesting immediate intervention andresolution of the issue onpriority.
Mayor Joshi emphasised that the administration must remain sensitive and responsive to the concerns of differently-abled citizens.
He stated that every resident of the city deserves to have their voice heard, especially those who face communicationchallenges....
