Karnal, July 17 -- Following the exit of director BV Ramana Reddy and multiple student suicides earlier this year, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will chair a review meeting at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra on Friday. The minister is likely to reach Kurukshetra at 10 am, where he will first attend Shiksha Samooh Samanvay Baithak at Vidhya Bharti Sanskriti Shiksha Sansthan on Salarpur road. According to his tour plan, he will reach the NIT campus at 5:30pm to chair the meeting in the presence of officiating director Brahmjit Singh, board members and others. After the meeting, Pardhan will pay obeisance at Bhadrakali Shakti Peeth Mandir and will depart for Delhi, after a brief visit at the residence of a local professor. NIT has been in headlines for several months this year. Later, the deaths of four students by suicide in two months rocked the campus, prompting protests which ultimately forced the authorites to shut the campus for nearly a month.HTC...
