Two threaten family at gunpoint, arrested
Rudrapur, June 17 -- Police have arrested two people, including the prime accused, for allegedly threatening a family at gunpoint and creating panic in a residential locality of Rudrapur earlier this month, police said on Tuesday, adding that the accused were arrested following a manhunt launched by the police.
According to SSP US Nagar Ajay Ganpati , the incident took place on June 10 in the Adarsh Colony area, where a group of men allegedly arrived at a residence, created a commotion and threatened family members. During the altercation, one of the accused allegedly brandished a pistol, causing panic among local residents.
The accused were identified as Raman Kakkar (32), the prime accuse, and Deepak Kumar (26).
He said when neighbours gathered and protested, the accused fled from the spot. During the escape, one of them allegedly discarded the weapon. A police team that reached the scene recovered a loaded .30-bore pistol along with six live cartridges. htc...
