JAMMU, Sept. 6 -- The crime branch on Saturday arrested two more accused in the rape and death case of a minor tribal girl in Kishtwar district's Chatroo area, people familiar with the development said. The duo was arrested late Friday from their homes, officials said, identifying them as Noor Din and Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, a former sarpanch. With the latest arrests, the total number of accused arrested in the case has risen to nine. The crime branch registered a fresh FIR in the case at the Special Crime Branch Police Station in Jammu. "While Noor Din is the cousin of the victim's father, Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh is the uncle of prime accused Khalid Hussain Sheikh. Both allegedly tried to influence the victim's father through money and pressure tactics at the behest of the prime accused to suppress the truth," the officials said.
