Chandigarh, Aug. 11 -- Police arrested two snatchers on Sunday in connection with a gold locket snatching incident from a woman in Mauli Jagran on Saturday. In her complaint, Nirmala Devi of Mauli Jagran said that around 5 pm, she and her daughter had gone to Vikas Nagar market in Mauli Jagran when two unknown bike-borne individuals snatched her gold locket and fled from the spot near the back side of the community center in the market area. The accused were arrested on Sunday. They have been identified as Manga Singh alias Sunny of Fatehgarh Sahib district in Punjab and Gurjeet Singh of Mauli Jagran. They were arrested from the slip road, near the railway underbridge in Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran. Police recovered the snatched locket and the motorcycle used in the crime from the accused. A snatching case was registered against the duo at the Mauli Jagran police station under Sections 304 (2), 3(5) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
