Two army brothers donate brain-dead mother's organs
Panchkula, July 29 -- In an act of compassion and selflessness, Naib Subedar Tilak Raj and Havildar Jagdev Singh, two brothers serving in the Indian Army along the northern and eastern borders, donated the organs of their 70-year-old mother, Maya Devi, after she was declared brain-dead following a brain stroke at the Command Hospital, Chandimandir. The organ retrieval procedure was carried out by the specialist team at Command Hospital, Western Command, in close coordination with medical teams from Army Hospital Research and Referral (RR), New Delhi, and the AIIMS New Delhi.
A green corridor, created in coordination with the Corps of Military Police (CMP), civil administration and local authorities, enabled the swift and seamless transportation of the retrieved organs to designated transplant centres....
