TRUMP ON INDIA BTA
Washington, Oct. 22 -- US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that a trade deal with India was "pretty close", adding that the agreement would be "different" from the pacts his country has signed with others. His remarks come alongside similar statements from his secretary of state Marco Rubio, who indicated on Tuesday that a trade deal was imminent.
"They want to make a deal. We're going to make a deal. Pretty close, yeah," Trump said when asked by reporters at the White House about the prospects for an agreement.

Commerce minister Piyush Goyal met with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on the sidelines of the G20 trade ministerial earlier in October, where the two discussed advancing the trade deal.
The upbeat comments come weeks after finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on October 5 said talks had reached a "plateau" and that further give-and-take would be "very, very difficult" for both sides.
