Chandigarh, Feb. 28 -- In view of the Chandigarh International Marathon scheduled to be held on March 1 from 3 am to 11 am, the traffic police have announced road closures, restrictions, and diversions across key routes. Roads from Kaimbala and Kansal sides towards Uttar Marg (Sukhna Lake side), Chandigarh Club small chowk to Lake, New Barricade Chowk to Old Barricade Chowk, Sectors 4, 5 and MLA Hostel Gate towards Uttar Marg, Kansal side (backside Punjab civil secretariat) towards Chandigarh Club, Sector 27/28 light point to grain market chowk. The Madhya Marg stretch from Transport light point towards PGI will remain restricted. One carriageway will be reserved for marathon runners, while the other will be used for regulated two-way traffic. Traffic coming from Kaimbala and Kansal is advised to enter city via Nayagaon-PGI Gate No. 3. Commuters heading towards Grain Market, Sector 26, may use the Modella Light Point-Transport Light Point route. Parking will not be allowed at the Chandigarh War Memorial and Lake Club parking areas. Visitors may use the designated public parking opposite Lake Club.
