Hoshiarpur, Aug. 13 -- A tipper truck claimed the lives of a 45-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter on Tanda-Sri Hagobindpur road on Wednesday. Police said Paramjit Kaur, her husband, Davinder Singh, and daughter Gurkirat Kaur, all residents of Tanda, were headed home on a motorcycle after visiting Gurdwara Pul Pukhta Sahib in Tanda. On the way, a recklessly driven tipper truck hit their two-wheeler, leaving the trio grievously injured. "After crashing into the motorcycle, the truck driver hit two bystanders as well. They were admitted to the local civil hospital," said Tanda station house officer Amarjit Kaur. The truck driver was arrested from the spot. Kaur said a case will be registered after recording the statement of Davinder, who had been referred to a higher medical institution due to the severity of his injuries.HTC...
