Suspected AC blast triggers fire, retd Haryana IAS officer killed
NEW DELHI, May 29 -- Former Haryana IAS officer and the first chairman of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), Dhanendra Kumar, died after a fire, suspected to have been triggered by a blast in an air-conditioning unit, ripped through his residence in Delhi's Hauz Khas, police said on Thursday. His son was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment.
Kumar, 79, a 1968-batch IAS officer, also represented India at the World Bank as an executive director.
