Jalandhar, March 27 -- Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday alleged that AAP's campaign to conduct 16,000 rallies over the next 10 days will drain the state's exchequer. Addressing a gathering in Phillaur, Sukhbir alleged, "Such events are not for the welfare of the people as these are to be held at the cost of the state exchequer. The AAP government is holding all the political rallies on government expenses and using state transport buses to ferry the people to the venue." Sukhbir further said that under a sustained campaign, Sikh religious institutions are being weakened. "The SGPC was broken under a planned conspiracy to create a separate gurdwara committee for Haryana. The management committees of Sri Hazur Sahib and Takht Sri Patna Sahib were taken over by the state governments," he said. Laying out his vision for Punjab, Sukhbir said the next SAD government was committed to establishing food processing industries.
