St Xavier's partners with UT police for self-defence
Chandigarh, May 21 -- In a significant move to foster awareness among the young minds and guide them towards a safe and secure societal life, St Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, organised a three day "Self Defence Awareness Session", in collaboration with the Chandigarh Police 'Swayam' team. The event aimed to educate senior students on Self Defence, specially women's safety initiative launched to equip young girls and women with physical and mental tools, martial arts skills, and awareness to defend themselves in real-life situations.
The seminar was attended by over 1200 students of classes 6 to 12 took part in this and faculty members. Senior officials from the Chandigarh Police cell served as the keynote speakers, bringing real-world insights and data to the session.
Addressing the gathering, the visiting officials emphasised that law enforcement alone cannot secure safety rather a true safety require a behavioral shift among the youth, who act as vital influencers within their families.
