Chandigarh, Aug. 12 -- Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School celebrated St Clare's day with reverence and spiritual fervour, commemorating the life and enduring legacy of St Clare of Assisi, whose life continues to inspire through the virtues of faith, simplicity, compassion, courage and selfless service. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Anupa, school manager; Venita Joseph, principal; and Usha, vice-principal. The lighting of the lamp symbolised the dispelling of darkness. A transcendental prayer dance ushered the gathering into an atmosphere of serenity and devotion, followed by soulful hymns by the school choir. The highlight of the celebration was a thoughtfully conceived play depicting the perennial relevance of St Clare's values. Seamlessly weaving the past with contemporary realities, the presentation brought alive the enduring significance of her ideals of simplicity, compassion, courage and selfless service in today's world.
