Panchkula, Sept. 25 -- A 31-year-old man died after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a speeding car in Sector 6, Panchkula, on Thursday morning around 4.45. The deceased, Vipul Sharma, a resident of Dharampur, Kalka, was returning home after completing his night duty when the accident occurred, according to the FIR registered at Chandimandir police station. Police said the car, allegedly being driven at high speed and negligently, approached from the back and hit Sharma's motorcycle. He fell on the road and suffered critical injuries. A passerby, Sanjeev Kumar, who was travelling ahead of Sharma on another motorcycle, told police that he stopped after seeing the accident and found the victim with critical injuries to his face. He said the car driver, identified in the FIR as Deep Kumar, had initially stopped but fled after seeing a crowd gathering. The eyewitness, however, managed to note down the car's registration number, HR40B5015. An ambulance took the victim to the civil hospital in Sector 6, where doctors declared him dead.
