Special package for Kandi belt if SAD forms govt: Sukhbir
Chabbewal(Hoshiarpur), April 4 -- Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal on Friday announced that if voted to power in the 2027 assembly polls, SAD will establish a Kandi area development ministry for the overall development of the area.
Addressing a party rally organised by Chabbewal party leader Harminder Singh Sandhu, he assured a special industrial package for the Kandi belt, including power and tax subsidies, twin highways from Pathankot to Chandigarh and Amritsar to Anandpur Sahib to improve road connectivity in the region.
Lambasting the AAP government for the "deteriorating" law and order situation, Sukhbir alleged that chief minister Bhagwant Mann had no time for the people of Punjab and was busy in fulfilling AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal's agenda.
"Mann now does not even have the confidence to visit his own village without implementing a lockdown and confiscating all weapons in the village and nearby areas," he said.
He alleged that the chief minister created a situation in which arhtiyas from Punjab were giving representations to a chief minister of a neighbouring state. Demanding an explanation from the chief minister for about Rs.1.5 lakh-crore investment during AAP tenure, he said that the RTI information he had accessed had revealed that only Rs.2,600 crore investment had been made.
Outlining his vision for Punjab if the SAD formed the government, Sukhbir said that a world-class university with centres in each district would be established which wouldimpart training to one lakh youth every year.
Later talking to mediapersons, Sukhbir said, "In four years, I do not think any delegate has gone to meet the CM because no one trusts him. Even the arhtiyas of Punjab preferred to give a representation to the CM of a neighbouring state than meeting their own CM."
He alleged that Mann and Kejriwal were not only fooling people of Punjab but also of Gujarat with fake promises.
Sukhbir said that Parkash Singh Badal was the real chief minister who delivered on every front. "Had it not been for SAD, Punjab would be reeling under power shortage and infrastructure crunch," he claimed....
