India, Aug. 30 -- M onths after leading India to the T20 World Cup title, Suryakumar Yadav has opened up about being dropped from the national side and replaced by Shreyas Iyer as T20I captain. The selectors left Suryakumar out of the squads for the Ireland and England series in June, with his prolonged dip in batting form seen as a key factor behind the decision. Speaking to former India batter Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel, Suryakumar said he accepted the call without resentment. "I smiled when my name was not there. Because when I played cricket with the team for a year or two, and whenever I am playing, so whenever I have been in situations like where there is pressure, where things are not going my way, I have always smiled." He admitted he had expected to remain part of India's plans through the next Olympic cycle and T20 World Cup. "After coming in 2026, I felt that, going forward, I would be taking this team forward for another two years. The Olympics will come. Then there will be another T20 World Cup, another challenge going forward." But the 35-year-old said he respected the selectors' decision. "If they thought that going forward, this is a better call, they took that call. But I didn't react... Going forward, if this team can do well under someone else, no problem." HTC...
