Sirsa ASI booked for 'siphoning off' seized opium
ROHTAK, June 16 -- An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) posted at Ding police station in Sirsa district was dismissed from services for allegedly siphoning off a portion of an opium seizure and manipulating official records on Monday, while the station house officer was suspended. Inspector Devender Singh, SHO, Ding police station, was suspended as he could not perform his duty to supervise the seizure.
ASI Ranbir Singh has been booked under NDPS Act after a preliminary inquiry revealed his alleged involvement in tampering with the opium consignment seized from a truck near Bhavdin Toll Plaza in Sirsa district earlier this month. Sirsa superintendent of police Deepak Saharan said that the action has been taken following internal reports.
