Singer Mika to joinanti-drug campaign
Chandigarh, May 3 -- Renowned singer Mika Singh called on Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at the Lok Bhavan here on Saturday.
During their meeting, the governor urged the singer to join the campaign against drug abuse in the state, according to an official release. Responding positively, Mika promised his full support and said he would collaborate with the Chandigarh administration to organise a mega show in the city.
He said the show would be held without any ticket fee and all the support generated from it would be dedicated to strengthening the anti-drugs campaign.
The meeting also focussed on promoting the Punjabi language, culture and heritage at the global level. Both emphasised the need to showcase Punjab's rich legacy and traditions before the world.
Discussions were also held on boosting tourism in the state and creating a conducive environment for film production.
Mika suggested the development of a world-class film city in Punjab, on par with Bollywood and even Hollywood standards, to attract filmmakers and tourists alike....
