Barnala, Oct. 27 -- The union of sarpanches in Barnala has demanded an apology from Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu who came up with a new song on October 20 that included a "controversial" sentence - "saney sarpanch sara pind kutt dau" (will thrash all villagers, including sarpanch). The sarpanch union has called for a mass gathering at the district complex of Barnala. Meanwhile, Sidhu took to social media to defend his song, stating it was purely for entertainment, but offered an apology to anyone hurt. Jagsir Singh, the sarpanch of Gulab Sidhu's native village (Pharwahi) in Barnala, said he attempted to resolve the matter by speaking with the singer's family but "did not receive a satisfactory response". The sarpanches want the singer to appear at their gathering and offer an apology and remove the song from his accounts. They also want the track to be banned. Senior superintendent of police Sarfaraz Alam said no formal complaint has been filed yet. htc...
