BARNALA, July 14 -- Farmers' and labourers' bodies, under the banner of Qaumi Insaf Morcha, staged a protest outside the residence of Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon in Barnala on Monday, demanding the release of Sikh prisoners. The protesters said the agitation at the Mohali border has continued for more than three-and-a-half years, but neither the Centre nor the state government has taken any concrete step to address their demands. Senior leader Gurcharan Singh criticised the BJP leadership, alleging it failed to honour its assurances.
