India, Aug. 21 -- The 80th Independence Day was celebrated in our school with great patriotism, pride and enthusiasm. The entire celebration was based on the theme 150 Years of Vande Mataram. The programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony by president Jagmohan Garg along with all committee members. The National Anthem was sung by everyone with great pride. Various activities were organised during the celebration. The day started with a morning assembly on 150 years of Vande Mataram, where all students took the Tiranga Pledge. Students participated in rangoli competition, poster making, board cecoration, essay writing, poetry recitation, slogan writing and letters to armed forces/police personnel, quiz competition, patriotic song presentations and documentary screening. In his address, president Jagmohan Garg paid tribute to our freedom fighters and motivated students to become responsible citizens and work for the progress of the nation....
