Amritsar, July 10 -- The station house officer (SHO) of the Rajasansi police station was suspended after being found absent from duty during a surprise inspection by deputy inspector general (border range) Harmanbir Singh Gill. Officials said the DIG was conducting surprise checks of police nakas in the Rajasansi area, when the SHO, sub-inspector Harjit Singh, was found missing from his assigned naka duty. The DIG subsequently reached the police station, where the SHO was at ease in the rest room without his uniform.
