Behlolpur, Sept. 25 -- An earthquake safety awareness programme was organised during morning assembly at Shishu Niketan-66 Public School, Behlolpur under the disaster management initiative. The objective was to make students aware of safety measures during an earthquake. Teachers explained the importance of staying calm and acting quickly during an emergency. The main attraction was a live demonstration of the 'drop, cover and hold on' technique. Teachers showed how to drop to the ground, take cover under a strong desk, and hold on until the shaking stops. All students practiced the technique under teacher guidance. Students were also instructed to stay away from windows and heavy objects, avoid lifts and rushing towards doors, and to evacuate calmly to the designated safe assembly area after the shaking stops.
