Schools urge parents to keep sick kids at home
New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- Several schools across Delhi have issued advisories to parents urging them not to send children to school if they develop flu-like symptoms, amid a rise in seasonal influenza and H1N1 cases in the Capital and reports of children suffering from prolonged fever, cough and other respiratory ailments. South Delhi-based Tagore International School has asked parents to exercise caution and keep children at home when unwell.
"Do not send your ward to school if the child is experiencing cold, cough, sore throat, mild fever, body ache, unusual fatigue, or any other flu-like symptoms," the school said in its advisory.
A similar advisory was issued by The Indian School in the district, urging parents to remain vigilant for symptoms and inform the school if their child is diagnosed with H1N1, enabling the institution to further take necessary precautionary measures. The notice was issued by principal Tania Joshi.
Rohini-based Venkateshwar Global School also issued an advisory. The advisories come as parents and teachers across the city report a rise in children falling sick for several days with flu-like symptoms....
