Satendra Soni files FIR against filmmaker couple
India, Aug. 23 -- On Thursday, actor Satendra Soni, known for Laapataa Ladies (2023), filed an FIR against filmmaker Pushpendra Singh and his wife, actor Pragati Chauhan, alleging non-payment of dues, assault, intimidation, and wrongful confinement during the shoot of the film Paid Paalki.
"I had to take this action for myself and all other actors who get trapped in such fraudulent film deals. Singh has been doing this with many other actors as well. I am not the first one. Aur meri yeh ladai paise ki nahin hai, respect ki hai," Soni says.
In June, Soni alleged on Instagram that he was threatened and denied payment after eight days of shooting in Madhya Pradesh.
Explaining the delay in filing a complaint, he says, "I was scared to take this step before. It was when people came forward to help, and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) stood by me."
He adds, "Mujhe trust issues hone lage hain. I had lost peace of mind after the incident. I want strict action to be taken against them."...
