Chandigarh, Oct. 24 -- Amid rising reports of farm fire incidents, SAEL Industries Ltd on Thursday announced plans to procure 20 lakh tonnes of paddy waste this season and convert it into clean electricity through its fuel aggregation network. Announcing the initiative, the integrated renewable energy company said the large-scale procurement drive aimed to address the twin challenges of stubble burning and agricultural waste management. Laxit Awla, chief executive officer and executive director of SAEL Industries, said the company's initiative by converting agricultural waste into clean energy would create additional income opportunities for farmers while also promoting sustainable energy production. "This initiative helps preserve soil health, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and decrease dependence on fossil fuel imports, while contributing to a more resilient and sustainable energy grid," Awla said.
