Ruckus in Haryana House as Cong MLAs allege manhandling
Chandigarh, Aug. 28 -- Ruckus ensued in Haryana assembly for nearly two hours on the first day of the monsoon session on Thursday, leading to adjournments twice, as Congress MLAs questioned why their peaceful protest was stopped by security personnel at the Vidhan Sabha gate and they were manhandled.
Congress legislators asked whether they did not have the right to carry out a democratic protest, while Speaker Harvinder Kalyan maintained that it was everybody's responsibility to follow rules and regulations. The disruptions led to the Speaker suspending eight Congress MLAs for the remainder of the day's proceedings.
