Reality check! Neha takes 'angoor khatte hain' dig at Sunidhi

inger Neha Kakkar, 38, has hit back at Sunidhi Chauhan, 43, over the latter's criticism of singing reality shows, taking a "sour grapes" dig at the singer while insisting that the format is neither fake nor scripted. Speaking at the launch of I-POPSTAR Volume 2, Neha was asked about Sunidhi's repeated claims that reality shows had become scripted and increasingly reliant on Auto-Tune. Neha responded, "The fame declined because I stopped doing it. The TRPs were at their highest as long as I was doing it."
She then added, "Sorry, but I would like to say, 'angoor naa mile toh angoor khatte hain' log aisa bolte hain toh waisa hi hai. Angoor jisko nahi milte usko khatte hi lagte hain. Yeh show bilkul scripted nahi hai. People's lives are never scripted. Of course, we all come from a humble background, and if I get emotional listening to someone's story, so it's natural."
Interestingly, both singers have deep reality-TV roots themselves. Neha first shot to public attention as a contestant on Indian Idol 2 in 2005, while Sunidhi won Meri Awaz Suno as a teenager in 1996 before emerging as one of Bollywood's leading playback voices.
