Chandigarh, Sept. 8 -- Rajesh Kumar Sharma, a 2014-batch IPS officer, has been appointed the senior superintendent of police (SSP, operations) in UT following his transfer from Jammu and Kashmir, according to orders issued on Monday. Sharma will also hold charge of cybercrime, Commandant of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) and Assistant Commandant of the Home Guards. In other senior-level postings, 2018-batch IPS officer Vineet Kumar, who was transferred from New Delhi, has been appointed superintendent of police (headquarters and communications), with additional charge of vigilance. Anurag Daru, a 2022-batch IPS officer, has been given charge of SP (crime), economic offences wing, and security and traffic. DANIPS officer Vijay has been appointed SP (city), women and child support unit, and intelligence. The UT police also issued a separate order on Monday transferring 13 personnel in the lower ranks. Three inspectors - Ravdeep Singh, Chander Mukhi and Neeraj Kumar - have been posted as additional station house officers (SHOs) at police stations in Sectors 39, 17 and 34, respectively.
