Karnal, April 7 -- The public works department (building and roads) suspended two junior engineers (JEs) Dinesh Kumar and Rajender Kumar, posted at Karnal's Assandh division for alleged negligence regarding the Assandh-Kohand road. Executive engineer Raj Kumar said headquarters issued orders after the CM crossed the route on Saturday, while travelling toward Salwan village. "The 37-km route has been in a dilapidated condition. A repair tender had been pending for a long time, work only started in March after the allotment. The agency started work on the Kohand side, but the work halted due to uneven rain. Now, we have filled the potholes," he added. Kumar said headquarters informed them that the CM expressed displeasure over the road's condition. htc...
