Patiala, Feb. 9 -- Pushpinder Singh Gill was appointed as the vice-chancellor of the Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University (MBSPSU) in Patiala, for a tenure of three years, effective from the date he assumes office. The order in this regard was issued by Vivek Pratap Singh, principal secretary to the Punjab governor and university chancellor. Gill will assume charge on Monday. An official spokesperson on Sunday said Gill brings over 36 years of experience spanning academia, research, administration, and international consulting to the post. A retired professor from Punjabi University, Gill served for more than two decades as a professor at the school of management studies. He holds a doctorate in management from Punjabi University and in addition to academics, has corporate leadership experience as well, having served as chief executive officer for The Coca-Cola Company's operations in parts of Africa between 1999 and 2001.
