Pune, Sept. 3 -- A jawan posted at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla was found dead on railway tracks in Pune on Tuesday evening, according to a defence release issued on Wednesday. Havaldar Jagtar Singh, a native of Mansa district in Punjab, was posted at the tri-service training academy. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) found his body on the railway track between Khadki and Shivajinagar at around 5.30pm on September 1. The body was subsequently sent to the Government Hospital in Aundh for post-mortem examination. His next of kin have been informed about the incident, the defence release said. A Court of Inquiry (COI) has been ordered to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death. The Southern Command PRO described the incident as "unfortunate" and said the inquiry would establish the circumstances leading to the jawan's death.Further details from Central Railway and the RPF are awaited....
