Prakash Nanjappa inaugurates shooting academy at Dikshant Int'l School, Derabassi
India, April 12 -- In a significant step towards nurturing sporting excellence, Prakash Nanjappa, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian shooter, formally inaugurated the Prakash Nanjappa Shooting Academy at Dikshant International School, Derabassi. This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the region and marks a major milestone in promoting shooting sports at the grassroots level.
The academy features a modern 10-metre indoor shooting range with 12 lanes, equipped with the latest training technology to offer world-class facilities for aspiring shooters.
Dikshant Schools chairperson Mitul Dikshit shared that the academy is envisioned as a platform to nurture grassroots talent and contribute meaningfully to the future of shooting in India. He highlighted that the long-term goal is to produce Olympians who can represent the country on the global stage.
Importantly, the academy will not only cater to students of Dikshant Schools, but is also open to aspiring shooters from outside the institution. The initiative aims to scout talent from across India and, in the coming years, extend support through scholarships and hostel facilities for various sports disciplines, including shooting.
The academy will function under the mentorship of Prakash Nanjappa, ensuring structured guidance and exposure to professional training standards.
