Chandigarh, May 30 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Punjab, altering key dates related to the publication of draft rolls and the filing of claims and objections. Punjab chief electoral officer (CEO) Anindita Mitra said the draft electoral rolls will now be published on August 3. Following the publication, electors will be able to file claims and objections from August 3 to September 2. She further informed that the process of issuing notices and disposing of claims and objections will be carried out between August 3 and September 28. She added that the remaining schedule of the SIR remains unchanged and will continue as per the Election Commission's notification issued on May 14.
