Chandigarh, March 29 -- An 82-year-old man was targeted in a snatching incident while sitting in a park in Sector 37-D on Thursday morning, with the accused fleeing on a scooter after grabbing his mobile phone. According to a complaint submitted to the Sector-39 police station, the victim, SL Soni, a resident of Sector 37-D, was sitting on a bench in the park behind the mini market around 11.45 am. He said he was on a call when an unidentified youth approached from behind and snatched his mobile phone. Soni said as he raised the alarm, he saw two persons escaping on a scooter. In a swift response, two passers-by, a young man and a woman on another scooter, chased the suspects, but in vain. They returned to inform the victim that they had noted the registration number of the accused vehicle. The victim immediately contacted his wife, who alerted the police around noon and shared details of the incident. Acting on the complaint, police initiated a probe to trace and arrest the accused....
