Mohali, Sept. 24 -- A 45-year-old painter suffered critical burn injuries after coming in contact with an overhead high-tension power line while working at a house in Balongi village on Wednesday morning. The incident took place around 11 am and caused a loud explosion, following which the supply to the surrounding areas was disrupted for several hours. The injured, Gajendra, of Amar Colony, was cleaning the terrace and cutting grass that had grown there when he accidentally touched an overhead 66-kV high-tension electricity line. Residents immediately rushed him to the civil hospital in Phase 6, where doctors said he had suffered around 30% burns.
