Panchkula, Sept. 8 -- In a special drive aimed at clearing the backlog of cases and ensuring timely justice, the Panchkula police on Monday filed 125 chargesheets in a single day before a local court. Amrinder Singh, deputy commissioner of police (DCP), said the chargesheets pertained to cases involving various offences, including heinous crimes. Several of these cases had been pending for a considerable period and required completion of investigation and documentation before the chargesheets could be submitted. He said that under the supervision of DCP Aditi Singh, all police stations and units were directed to complete pending investigations and documentation on priority so that chargesheets could be filed without further delay."It was a joint effort, and special permission was taken from the court for filing all these chargesheets in a single day," Singh said.
