India, Sept. 4 -- On any other day, a cricket board advertising a coaching vacancy would hardly qualify as news. But Pakistan cricket has not exactly had an ordinary week. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is back in the news, but for its off-field moves. Following Pakistan's heavy defeat to England at Lord's in the second Test of the three-match series, the PCB made sweeping changes. It sacked head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul, and sent seven players home. And then came a job advertisement posted by the board on LinkedIn. The PCB is seeking a fielding coach for Pakistan's men's national team. Applicants must hold a Level II cricket coaching qualification and have at least five years' experience working in a similar role with elite players, national teams or franchise sides. The position covers both red- and white-ball cricket. The LinkedIn post gave social media users a chance to have a field day. One user commented "Sir, WFH milega?" Another quipped, "Pakistan might lose on the field but they never miss out on giving back to the game some real entertainment. Thank you for being you, PCB."
