India, Oct. 17 -- Industrialist Elon Musk's promised 'flying car' has sent social media into a meme frenzy. Tesla demonstrated its long-awaited second-generation Roadster at a SpaceX facility in Texas on Thursday, with the electric supercar flipping mid-air and briefly hovering before landing safely. "Turns out the future does have flying cars," Musk captioned a video of the demonstration on X on Friday, prompting jokes and sci-fi references online. The Roadster will come in three variants: the two-seater Performance, which is a road-ready version without thrusters; the race-ready, two-seater Thrust with added acceleration; and the single-seater Rocket designed for aerial manoeuvres. Tesla is accepting reservations for the Performance and Thrust versions, while the Rocket is invite-only. The company is targeting 2028 for production. The demonstration quickly became the internet's talking point. An Indian user joked, "Dear Elon Musk, stop copying our legend Rohit Shetty," referring to the filmmaker's gravity-defying Bollywood action sequences. Another quipped, "I'm done with traffic ya'll be safe down there!" A third wrote, "Great Scott, Elon. You actually did it," alongside an AI-generated image of Musk as Dr Emmett "Doc" Brown, the time-travelling scientist played by Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future.HTC...
