Mohali institute honours achievers as nine cadets join Armed Forces
Mohali, June 18 -- The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), Mohali, on Wednesday honoured its distinguished alumni with the Achiever Awards, recognising nine cadets commissioned into the Indian Armed Forces during May and June 2026 and five others who recently graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA).
The ceremony, held at the institute's Sector 77 campus, was presided over by Air Marshal TS Randhawa (retd), former Commandant of the NDA. Congratulating the awardees, he said their training at MRSAFPI had laid a strong foundation for successful military careers and praised the institute's faculty for its consistent results.
Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan (retd) said the institute has so far sent 324 cadets to the NDA and other training academies, with 196 commissioned as officers. Another 24 cadets are awaiting joining letters, further strengthening the institute's reputation as a leading feeder institution for the Armed Forces.
MRSAFPI admits only 48 cadets each year from around 4,000 applicants for its two-year residential programme, which combines Class 12 education with physical training, leadership development and NDA examination preparation....
